Stefanie Bennett
A well-received and respected entity in the music industry, Stefanie is no stranger to
success, she has stolen the hearts of dance music fans around the world. Her sound comprises
driving dance beats, smooth melodies, and powerful—yet seductive—vocals. Also a well-known
hip hop choreographer and dance instructor, Stefanie is most at home when she’s on stage.
Dance
Her career began in 1989—at the age of 18-years-old—when Rennie Harris from One House
Street/Pure Movement invited her to join his dance troop, Assault with a Deadly Step (ADS).
After performing on TV shows and in venues around Philadelphia and NJ, she formed her own
dance troop, The K.O. Girls. Since then, she’s had opportunities to study and perform with
choreographers Rhapsody James, Dave Scott, and Sammy Reyes, to name a few. Her
choreography has appeared on NBA/MTV “Stay in Schools Jam,” radio station Q102’s annual
concerts, and in many competitions. She remains a member of the International Teachers of
Dance (ITDI) and is a former participant of Dance Masters of America/Teacher’s Training
School.
Recording
She debuted as a songwriter and singer in 1993 with “Don’t Let Me Go,” released on Tazmania
Records, a Philadelphia-based independent label. It was well received across the U.S. and
Canada—especially in Texas, San Francisco, Florida, New York, Philadelphia, and
Toronto—spinning on over 25 Rhythmic radio stations. Shortly after, she released “Never Too
Late,” followed by “I Should Have Known,” “I’ll Never Forget You,” and “Swing My Way,”
completing her first EP release in 1994.
Stefanie continued to write and record for Tazmania Records and was featured on numerous
compilation albums. With songs like “Angelo,” “Take Me Higher,” “Crazy,” Fallin’,” and “Ohh La
La La,” her entire song catalog was compiled into a full-length album entitled “Freestyle Diva”
(2000).
She signed on to front the electro-beat outfit known as PARADIGM and was back on the charts
with “Back 4 My Love.” 2010 brought “Can U Stop The Rain,” “I Miss You,” and “Show Me The
Way,” all destined for success on radio mix shows and dance floors worldwide. With no plans to
stop anytime soon, her newest releases (in descending order) are “Against All Odds,”
“Unlovable,” “Shine,” “Dreams of You,” and “This May Be Love.”
